How You Can Tackle Reckless Spending As A Student
things that would add to our education (formal or informal), our well being and the well being of others around us. As a student myself in one of the universities in Nigeria and as a student who has experience in matters concerning school life and how to survive. I decided to write this article to help my fellow students understand the importance of savings and wise money spending. I Will Be Explaining Below Ways In Which You Can Stop Wreckless Spending, These Ways Have Been Tested And Certified Working. 1) Have A Budget And Stick To IT. As students, we must ensure we have weekly, monthly and daily budgets of what we are to spend. It is very important that students should keep in mind what they need for that day, month or week and spend only the amount of money they have budget. This will help in curtailing wreckless and irrelevant spendings that students do today. It is wrong for a student to spend all the cash he has at end and not have anything left to spend the next day or invcase of an emmergency. 2) Savings It is a fact that majority of students do not like to save. We have students who always want to spend every money on them to buy irrelevant and meaningless things to attract their friends or gain attention from the public. It is said that you are as rich as your bank account and not what you spend daily. Saving your money in a bank is another cool way to stop wreckless spendings. 3) Have A Record It is advisable to keep records of every money you spent and how it was spent. Records will help you to avoid spending the wrong way. Records help you realize the wrongs in your spendings and give you the chance to correct them. This method has worked for so many people who have issues with spending money. 4) Don't Give What You Dont Have, You Are Not Santa Generosity is indeed a good thing, but should you die for another to live? You cannot dash your money away and live in hunger. Many people give away their last cash all in the name of being good (This is wrong). As a Christian, I give to the poor and to the needy when I have another to spare. It is wrong to give a shoeless person your shoes and become shoeless yourself. What am I trying to say? Be careful how generous you are and stop being too generous. 5) Differentiate Your Wants From Your Needs Needs are compulsory things we must spend on in our lives, but wants are things that we just want to add to decorate our needs. Wants are not always important so we should take care of our needs first, then select a few wants for ourselves. Doing these will help us save in case of emmergency need. 6) Disassociate Ourselves From Opportunists There are some friends who add no value to your life, the only value they have is to help you lavish your money. Please run away from people like this and always follow those who are willing to share the burden. Mingle with those who will be happy to pay too. These are the ways that have worked for me and I know they will work for you too if only you can apply them to your life and let them lead your spending habit.
